The To Do List To END All To Do Lists…
The Mission:
Complete 101 preset tasks in a period of 1001 days. For me, this ends November 30, 2010.
The Criteria:
Tasks must be specific (ie. no ambiguity in the wording) with a result that is either measurable or clearly defined. Tasks must also be realistic and stretching (ie. represent some amount of work on my part).
My list: (in no particular order!)
- Finish college
- Get a real job
- Go to New York City
- Go on a road trip
- Read Jane Eyre in its entirety
- Write a short story and get it published
- Work at a book store
- Watch the sun set and rise
- Take a photo of every friend and family member
- Tell someone I love them- someone I haven’t seriously told
- Go horseback riding
- Sleep under the stars
- Read the entire Bible- and really study it (context!)
- Get a couple of new tattoos
- Learn how to dance- various styles
- Have at least one sit down nice dinner party
- Exercise more, and be… healthy
- Find God in every day
- Deal with life’s problems as they come. No running away.
- Fast
- Go to the beach at least once a year
- Learn how use a gun
- Walk outside at least once a week
- Get on the treadmill at least once a week
- Do yoga/Pilates at least once a week
- Spend a day without complaining once a month
- Limit soda to one per day for a month
- Drink 8 cups of water, daily for 6 months
- Go one week without eating bread or pasta
- Start a scrapbook
- Raise my credit score by 10 points.
- Take a cruise
- Leave Keith a love note once a month
- Swim with the dolphins
- Make a will
- Follow The Love List for 1001 days
- Organize my closet
- Buy a new couch
- Make one new friend
- Sell this house
- Be selfish-do 10 things for myself
- Be self-less-do 20 things for other people
- Do something to help someone out but don’t tell anyone about it.
- Get super dressed up just for fun for one evening
- Have a girl’s night once every two months
- Host a cookout bonfire party
- Send my grandma a hand written note, just because
- See a movie at the drive-in
- Spend a rainy day in bed and don’t leave the house
- Make the bed everyday for one month.
- Sew at least one dress for myself
- Sew Keith’s new Quilt
- Learn Spanish.
- Watch the sunset from the top a mountain
- Take an exercise class
- Get a new house
- Clean out and redecorate our bedroom
- Call it quits with my birth mother.
- Get down to my pre-Keith jean size
- Visit museums & art galleries at least four times
- Go to at least 3 concerts
- Do a girls day outing once a month with the kiddos
- Read at least one classic a month and one non-fiction a month.
- Run a mile
- Go for a romantic night out
- Learn to dive
- Get a job i love
- Give blood as often as possible
- Reread the Lord of the Rings Trilogy
- Make a list of friends and families birthdays/anniversaries and send them cards
- Read all library books I take out within the time period and return them
- Take a pottery class
- Take the girls camping
- Take the girls hiking
- Learn one new recipe a month – and write it down
- Acquire a copy of ‘The Complete Works of Shakespeare’” and READ it
- Have a Spa Day
- Start a book club
- Make a list of things that make me happy
- Make love in the rain
- Purchase a new sofa
- Read 10 books from the banned list
- Send Thinking of you cards for no reason once a month to shut ins
- Add more Bookshelves to the library
- Make some Curtains.
- Act in a play.
- Make the library a huge success
- Visit (and make use of) A Word A Day
- Volunteer in some form at least once a month
- Go on a Ghost Tour
- Learn how to play poker
- Attend Discipleship classes throughout duration of 1001 days
- Fly a kite
- Create a gorgeous and edible garden
- Have a board game marathon.
- Host an all girls sleepover – for adults only!
- Dance in the moonlight with Keith.
- Wear mismatched socks for one week.
- Learn sign language.
- Take part in a pillow fight that ends in absolutely, positively curl your toes then stretch out as far as you can sex.
- Make my next to do list.


I see you’re going to be busy for a while.

I know, just seeing everything written down makes it seem like a LOT!
