Christmas Survey

December 12, 2007

Lisa over at Books On The Brain did this Christmas survey that I thought was fun so I’ll do the same. Play along on your own blog, if you like, and leave a link here.

Here goes……

1. Wrapping paper or gift bags?

Wrapping paper.  And big pretty bows. Not the crappy kind that get squished in a 100 bows per bag type.

2. Real tree or Artificial?

Artificial.  They don’t shed.

3. When do you put up the tree?

Typically the weekend after Thanksgiving.

4. When do you take the tree down?

Early January (3rd or 4th)

5. Do you like egg nog?

Oddly enough, I have never tried it.

6. Favorite gift received as a child?

The coal I got every year really isn’t a favorite ya know.

7. Do you have a nativity scene?

Not really. I have one.  I just seemed to have misplaced it.

8. Hardest person to buy for?

My dad.  What to buy him except Nascar and I hate that.

9. Easiest person to buy for?

Keith.  He has two lists I can choose from.

10. Mail or e-mail Christmas cards?

Mail. How do you display e-cards around your house?

11 .Worst Christmas gift you ever received?

There are so many!! Keith bought me a pair of 3X pajama pants.  I said I wanted an XL because they were baggy and comfortable.  He doesn’t understand sizing I suppose.  An X got me a CD collection that HE wanted.  I hate Rush.  Why would you buy me that?  Same X bought me a microwave for an anniversary gift.  It truly is romantic every time I nuke a bow of soup.

12. Favorite Christmas movie?

I have too many!  For wrapping and UNwrapping presents, you must have A Christmas Story playing.  I have to watch It’s A Wonderful Life on Christmas Eve. Thanksgiving weekend is National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation.

13. When do you start shopping for Christmas?

Around Thanksgiving.  Mostly Christmas Eve.

14. Have you ever recycled a Christmas present?

I have not.

15. Favorite thing to eat at Christmas?

I like Ham.  I tend to get a lot of Almond Joys in my stocking (only sweet I eat) so I eat a lot of those. Does that count?

16. Clear or colored Christmas lights?

Clear.  We had blue lights as a kid and I just cringe at the white trash memories.

17. Favorite Christmas song?

I have two.  The fun one is “Santa Baby”.  The real one is “Mary Did You Know? It makes me cry every freakin time.

18. Travel at Christmas or stay home?

We are travelling for the first time ever. I do not like it. I do not feel like it is Christmas.

19. Can you name all of Santa’s reindeers?

Of course!! Can you?  And NO Sleepy isn’t one of them.

20. Angel on the tree top or a star?

Ummm we have a red velvet bow.  I have a gorgeous star but our tree is too tall for it.  Same thing with our cool angel.

21. Open the presents Christmas Eve or morning?

We open one gift on Christmas Eve, and it’s always the same.. new jammies.

22 . Most annoying thing about this time of year?

Commercialism and THE BICKERING about the commercialism.

23. Favorite ornament theme or color?

Oh boy.  Remember that white trash Christmas comment? Yeah, its warped me for life.  I like a themed tree with either: red and gold balls, red ribbons, white lights or purple and silver balls, silver bows, white lights.  NOTHING ELSE.  I don’t care if my kid made it or not. I hate it.  But.  I do let them put their stuff on.  I just pretend it isnt’ there.

24. Favorite for Christmas dinner?

Ham I guess?

25. What do you want for Christmas this year?

Books.  Books. A new microwave and some 3X pjs.

Happy Holidays!

I totally want to go…its in Cleveland, Ohio, where Dennis Kucinich lives too. Guess I’ll venture up that way when the house/senate are on a break and after Dennis is done campaigning so maybe I can see him AND the house! hehehe
