Vocabulary

April 22, 2008

I’ve always wondered what other people do when they come across a word/phrase that they’ve never heard before. I mean, do they jot it down on paper so they can look it up later, or do they stop reading to look it up on the dictionary/google it or do they just continue reading and forget about the word?

Honestly, its sad to say, for the most part I skip the word.  I *usually* can figure it out from the context it is used in. If not, and I really want to know, I ask my husband who has random word meanings stuck in his head all the time.

I am like Keith AND you, but if I don’t know it, I will jot it down for later.

I found an index card with 5 or 6 words on it in my purse the other day from last year or so. They had their definitions, too!!!
